Event Pooper Scooper Services in New Haven, CT

Before and after event yard cleanup across New Haven, Hamden, Branford and Guilford. Quoted like a one-time cleanup, starting at $45.

A short outdoor season, and everything lands in it

Connecticut gives you roughly May through October to do anything outdoors, and every graduation party, wedding, block party, fundraiser, and backyard reunion in the New Haven area gets crammed into that window. Which means most outdoor events here happen on ground that is doing a lot of work in a short period, under weather that does not always cooperate.

The specific problem is moisture. Air coming off Long Island Sound keeps humidity high through the summer, the soil across much of this area is heavy enough that it holds water rather than shedding it, and a Thursday rain will still be in the turf on Saturday afternoon. Soft ground plus foot traffic plus anything the dogs left behind equals a very short trip from lawn to something guests are tracking onto a patio and into a house.

Then there is the part nobody wants to bring up in advance. A yard that is perfectly fine for the family that lives in it is not the same as a yard that is fine for sixty people in good shoes, half of whom will wander to the far corner where nobody normally goes. That far corner is also where the grass is tallest, where the waste has been accumulating quietly, and in this part of Connecticut, where the ticks are. Tick pressure is not a hypothetical here, and the edges of a property are exactly where guests with drinks end up standing.

Heat makes it worse fast. A humid July afternoon will pull odor out of a lawn that smelled like nothing at 9am, and it usually happens right around the time people move outside.

What this service is for

Event pooper scooper service is a scheduled cleanup built around a date rather than a subscription. There are three shapes it usually takes, and most customers pick one.

Before the event. The common one. We come out one to three days ahead and clear the entire property, including the perimeter, the treeline, under decks, and the corners that get skipped. This is what you want for a graduation party, a wedding at a private home, a rehearsal dinner, a milestone birthday, or any gathering where the yard needs to be genuinely ready rather than mostly ready.

After the event. For dog friendly gatherings: adoption events, rescue fundraisers, dog park meetups, breed club days, corporate campus events where employees bring dogs. Many dogs on one piece of ground for a few hours produces a mess that the host is not equipped to handle at 6pm when everyone leaves.

Before and after. For multi day events, or for hosts who want the property returned to normal without spending the next morning on it.

How it works

We schedule against your date, not against a route, so tell us the date first and everything else second. Timing before an event matters: one to two days out is usually right, because a week out means the dogs have a week to undo the work.

On site we walk the property systematically rather than doing a visual sweep. On event work that distinction is the whole job, because the areas that matter most are the ones that look clear from the deck and are not. Everything gets bagged and hauled off. Nothing is left in your bins on the day you are hosting, unless you would rather we did.

Equipment is sanitized between properties. At a dog friendly event this is not a formality: you are gathering dogs that do not share a yard, and parvovirus and intestinal parasites are exactly the things that move at gatherings like that.

You do not need to be home. Plenty of people book the day before, leave the gate unlocked, and come home to a finished yard.

What it costs

Event cleanups are quoted like a one time cleanup, because that is essentially what they are. The one time cleanup starts at $45, which covers the visit and the first five gallon bucket removed, and each additional five gallon bucket is $20.

The reason it is structured that way is that event jobs vary more than almost anything else we do. Clearing a small city yard for a family party is not the same job as clearing a half acre in Guilford or Cheshire after two months of no attention, and it is not the same as an after event cleanup where thirty dogs spent an afternoon on one field. Rather than quote a flat number that would be wrong in both directions, we count what comes out.

For a large or unusual event, especially an after event cleanup with a real dog count, call and describe it and we will estimate before you commit.

Where we go

We handle event work throughout New Haven and the surrounding towns: Hamden, East Haven, West Haven, North Haven, Branford, North Branford, Northford, Guilford, Madison, Woodbridge, Orange, Bethany, Milford, Cheshire, Wallingford, Meriden, Waterbury, Wolcott, Prospect, Middlebury, Southbury, Oxford, Naugatuck, Beacon Falls, Seymour, Ansonia, and Derby.

Shoreline properties, city lots, and wooded acreage up in the hill towns are all normal work for us. If you are looking for a pooper scooper service in New Haven or any of those towns ahead of a date, we route those ZIPs.

A few things people ask before booking

How far ahead should I book. As early as you can for the calendar slot, especially in June and September, which are the busiest stretches. The visit itself should land one to two days before the event.

What if it rains the day before. We still work. Wet ground makes the job slower and messier but it does not cancel it, and a rained on yard is the one you most want cleared before guests arrive.

Is this only for big events. No. A lot of these bookings are ordinary: someone is having family over and does not want to spend Friday night on it.

Can I switch to regular service afterward. Yes, and some people do once they see the yard clear. Regular dog poop pick up in New Haven starts at $17.99 per visit weekly and $69.32 a month biweekly. There is no obligation either way.
