Yard Deodorizing in Wichita, KS

Where we treat, and how the yards differ

We run yard deodorizing on the same routes as our regular scooping, which covers Wichita proper plus Goddard, Maize, Park City, Bel Aire, Andover, Derby, and Haysville.

West side. Goddard, Maize, and the newer subdivisions out through 67205, 67209, and 67235 tend to be recent construction on scraped ground: a thin layer of topsoil sitting on heavy clay, young bermuda sod, and fenced lots that are wide enough to look generous but small enough that a dog picks one corner and stays with it. Odor concentrates fast in that pattern. There is no shade to slow evaporation and no depth of soil to dilute anything, so the same six foot square carries the whole problem.

East side. Andover, Bel Aire, and the corridors through 67206, 67226, and 67230 run older and shadier, with more established fescue in back yards and mature trees along fence lines. HOA density is higher in a lot of these neighborhoods, which matters mostly because a shared fence puts your yard within nose range of two neighbors. The recurring complaint out east is the damp strip along a privacy fence where the sun never reaches. Fescue in shade holds moisture for days after a storm, and moisture is what keeps odor alive.

The core and the south. The older neighborhoods inside 67203, 67208, 67211, 67213, 67214, 67217, and 67218 are small lots with big trees, detached garages, and not much room to spare. On a narrow city lot the back door and the dog's favorite corner can be thirty feet apart, so odor is not a background issue, it is the whole issue. Derby, Haysville and 67060, and Park City generally give you more square footage, and out toward 67052 you get into acreage where waste spreads thin enough that smell rarely registers at all. We treat all of it, but the honest read is that the smaller the lot, the more difference deodorizing makes.

What yard deodorizing actually is

Scooping removes the solids. What it cannot remove is what soaked in: a residue film on the grass blades and hard surfaces, plus urine salts sitting in the top inch of soil. That first warm stretch in February catches a lot of people off guard. • Weekly service starts at $13.00 per visit, about $56.33 per month for one dog, and $15.00 per visit, about $65.00 per month for two.
• Every other week starts at $51.00 per month for one dog and $57.50 per month for two.
• If the yard has not been cleaned in a while, the first cleanup is $35 plus $15 per additional five gallon bucket we remove.
