Where we clean, and why it matters to the quote

A one time cleanup is priced by volume, not by acreage, which means the shape of your neighborhood affects the job more than the size of your lot does. We work a wide footprint out of Manhattan, and the yards are genuinely different from one end of it to the other.

Manhattan, 66502 and 66503. The core of the city. Older neighborhoods near campus and downtown have small, tightly fenced lots, often with mature trees, deep leaf litter along the fence line, and limited gate access. Volume per square foot is high because the dogs have less ground to cover. West and south Manhattan pick up newer subdivisions with larger flat backyards, open sight lines, and easier access. Both are fast jobs for a tech who knows the pattern, but they are fast for different reasons.

Kansas State University area, 66506. Rentals and shared houses. These are frequently the biggest single cleanups we do, because a yard with multiple roommates and multiple dogs and no clear owner of the chore accumulates for a full semester. Move out season is our busiest window here, and landlords and property managers make up a good share of it.

Junction City and Fort Riley, 66441 and 66442. Military housing and rental turnover drive a lot of the work here. PCS timing means we get a steady run of end of lease cleanups where the goal is a yard that passes inspection, not an ongoing schedule. Lots tend to be modest and uniform, which makes these predictable.

St. George, 66535, and Wamego, 66547. Further out along the Kaw valley, lots get bigger and the character shifts rural. Half acre and up is common, fencing is often partial or absent, and the dogs range. That changes the job: the waste is more scattered and less concentrated, so a careful grid walk takes longer even when the total volume is similar to a city lot.

Ogden. Small town lots, generally straightforward, often grouped with Fort Riley area routing.

Ft. Riley proper. We serve the area, though access on post depends on your housing situation, so tell us where you are when you request the quote and we will sort it out before the visit.

What a one time cleanup actually is

It is a full reset. We walk the entire yard on a grid rather than eyeballing the obvious spots, work fence lines, deck skirts, shrub beds and side yards, bag everything, and haul it off the property. Old, weathered, partially broken down waste comes out too. That is the part most people cannot face and the reason they call.

You do not have to be home. You do not have to warn us about how bad it is. There is no version of a Manhattan backyard that we have not seen, and there is no upcharge for embarrassment. The only things we need are yard access and to know whether a dog will be out.

A one time dog poop cleanup service makes sense in a handful of situations: you are selling or listing a house, you are moving out of a rental, you just adopted a dog and inherited a previous tenant's problem, you have been traveling, or you are hosting people and the yard is going to be used. It is also the standard first visit before recurring service starts.

Seasonal notes for this part of Kansas

Late winter and early spring. This is the peak. Manhattan winters lock everything in place, and then a warm stretch in late February or March releases the whole season at once. If you have not scooped since November, do not try to fix it in one Saturday. This is the single best use of a one time cleanup in this market.

Spring storms. After a heavy Flint Hills rain, low areas hold water and the ground stays soft for a day or two. We can work a wet yard, but a cleanup the day after a downpour is messier and slightly higher volume because material spreads. If timing is flexible, give it a day.

Summer. Heat and humidity from June through September speed up breakdown and bring flies fast. Summer cleanups often pair well with yard deodorizing, since removal alone will not always take the smell out of turf that has been baking.

Fall. Leaf cover is the quiet complication. Once the oaks and maples drop, waste disappears under leaf litter and gets missed by homeowners entirely, then reappears when the leaves are raked or blown. A cleanup before or right after leaf removal saves you doing the yard twice.

Pricing

One time cleanup in Manhattan is $40 for the first five gallon bucket and $15 for each additional bucket. That is the whole structure. You are paying for what actually comes out of your yard, which is why a small lot that has gone six months and a large lot that has gone three weeks can price out very differently from what you would guess.

Most single dog yards that have gone a month or two land in the first bucket or two. A multi dog yard after a full winter will be more. We will tell you the count and the total, and there is no obligation to continue with recurring service afterward.

If you do want to continue, the weekly pooper scooper service Manhattan KS customers move onto starts at $14.00 a visit for one dog, about $60.67 a month, and twice weekly starts at $25.00 a visit. Most people who book a reset end up on weekly, because the second cleanup is always cheaper than the first one was.
