Most people who call us have never used a pooper scooper service before, and the first question is almost always the same: what actually happens when you show up? Fair question. Here is one real visit, start to finish, on a normal week in Wyandotte or Leavenworth County.

The visit, step by step

We arrive on your scheduled day

You are assigned a service day, and we come that day every week (or every other week, if that is what you picked). You do not get a two hour window to sit through. Our routes run through the northwest side of the metro in a fixed order, so if you are in Piper you tend to get a similar time each week, and the same goes for Bonner Springs, Tonganoxie, Lansing, or Leavenworth. Weather can shift a route. A thunderstorm rolling up the Kaw valley in May does move people around by an hour or two, and if a day gets truly unworkable we make it up rather than skip it.

The gate

We come through the side gate, not the house. Nobody knocks. If your gate has a stubborn latch, a bungee, a carabiner, a padlock with a code, or a piece of wire that only works if you lift and push, tell us once and we write it down. If your yard sits behind a coded community gate, same thing. You do not need to be home, you do not need to leave anything unlocked beyond the gate itself, and we are not going near your house or your garage.

Your dogs

Plenty of our customers leave their dogs out and it goes fine. Some dogs are territorial about a stranger in the yard, and you know yours better than we do. If your dog needs to be inside while we work, put them in and we will still come and go without bothering you. If your dog is friendly and stays out, expect us to say hello and then get to work. We are not there to play, but we are also not going to ignore a golden retriever who has decided we are the best thing that has happened all week.

The sweep

This is the part that actually matters. We do not wander. We walk the yard in a deliberate pattern, usually the perimeter first and then back and forth across the interior in overlapping lanes, so no strip of grass gets covered from only one direction. Waste hides. It hides in the shade under a deck, along the fence line where the mower does not reach, in the mulch beds, behind the AC unit, and in tall fescue that has not been cut in ten days. Sweeping one direction only means you find what is facing you and miss what is tucked behind a clump of grass. Overlapping lanes from two directions is the difference between a yard that looks clean and a yard that is clean.

Big lots out toward Linwood, Fall Leaf, Reno, and Easton take longer and get the same treatment. We are not going to scoop the first quarter acre and call it done because the rest is a hike.

Disposal

Everything goes into a sealed bag and the bag leaves with us. We do not put it in your trash can unless you specifically ask us to, and plenty of people do ask, which is fine. What we will not do is leave a bag by your gate or tucked behind the shed. Our tools get cleaned between yards, which matters more than most people realize: parasite eggs and bacteria travel from yard to yard on equipment, not through the air.

The gate, again

Every visit ends the same way. The gate gets latched and then physically checked. Push it. Pull it. Confirm it caught. This is the single most important thing a dog poop removal service does, because a clean yard is worth nothing if the dog is three streets over. If your gate does not latch properly anymore, and plenty of older gates in Leavenworth and Bonner Springs have settled over the years, we will tell you rather than quietly hope.

You hear from us

When we leave, you get a notification that the visit is done. If something needed saying, we say it: the gate is dragging, the back corner is staying wet, there is a fresh hole under the fence, the neighbor's dog appears to be contributing. Small things you would have found eventually.

Who this works for

Weekly dog poop pick up service suits some households especially well. Families where the yard is where the kids actually play. Anyone whose knees, back, or pregnancy has made bending over forty times a week a genuinely bad idea. Households with two or three dogs, where the volume outpaces good intentions by Wednesday. Renters who want the yard to stay in the condition they found it.

Fort Leavenworth and Lansing bring us a specific version of this. On post and in the neighborhoods around it, families cycle through on orders, yards get inherited, and nobody wants the last month before a move spent catching up on a season of waste. We can take it week to week for as long as you are here and stop when you go, no drama. Scott spent a full career in the Army, so that rhythm is familiar around here.

Where we cover

We serve Wyandotte and Leavenworth counties: Kansas City, Piper, Bonner Springs, Linwood, Fall Leaf, Tonganoxie, Reno, Leavenworth, Fort Leavenworth, Lansing, Kickapoo, Fairmount, Maltby, and Easton. If you have been searching for a pooper scooper service in Kansas City, KS, or for one near you anywhere on this side of the metro between the Kansas River and the state line, you are almost certainly in our area. If you are on the Missouri side or down in Johnson County, we have sister locations and will point you at the right one.

What it costs

Pricing depends on how many dogs you have, how big the yard is, and how often you want us out. Rather than post a number that will not match your situation, we will give you an exact price up front with no obligation.
