How an event visit runs

Before the day: the walkthrough

We want to know the footprint before we work it. Where guests will actually be, where the tent or tables land, where the parking and the walking paths are, and whether dogs will be present during the event or just live on the property. A backyard in Montrose and a five acre place outside Cedaredge are entirely different jobs, and the walkthrough is what makes the quote real instead of a guess.

Arrival

We arrive on the day and time we agreed to, and for a pre event sweep that means with margin, not at the last minute. Setup crews, caterers, and rental trucks are all working the same window, so we plan around them. You do not need to stop what you are doing to meet us if access is already sorted.

The gate

Gates get opened and closed behind us, every time, and that matters more at an event than on a normal visit. Property gates are often propped open on event days for deliveries, and if a gate was open when we arrived we leave it as we found it rather than shutting somebody's vendor out. If it was latched, it goes back latched. We confirm which is which before we start.

The sweep pattern

We work the guest footprint first and hardest: the lawn where people will stand, the path from parking to the gathering area, and anywhere seating goes. Those passes overlap so nothing gets skipped.

Then the edges, which is where events actually go wrong. Fence lines, shrub beds, tree wells, the strip behind where the tent stakes go, and the shaded areas people drift toward when the afternoon sun is doing what it does here in summer. Dry high desert yards hide waste well: on gravel and xeriscape it takes on the color of the ground, and on irrigated grass thick turf covers it completely. On event work we do a deliberate second pass over the main footprint, because the tolerance for a miss is zero when there are two hundred people in dress shoes.

Disposal

Everything leaves with us. Nothing gets bagged and set by the gate, and nothing goes into the bins you are about to need for event trash. On event day that is not a small detail.

The final gate check

Before we pull out we walk back to every gate and access point we touched and confirm its state. On a property where dogs live, this is the part that keeps a good day from turning into a search for somebody's dog during the toasts.

The notification

You get a message when we are clear of the property. That is your signal that the ground is ready and setup can proceed without anyone watching their step. If we flagged something (an area we could not access, a gate that will not hold, standing water from a sprinkler zone) it is in that message.

The sweep after

Most event bookings are two visits, not one. If dogs were on the grounds during the event, the post event sweep runs the same pattern the next morning so the property owner is not the one out there with a bag at seven in the morning. It is optional, and plenty of events only need the pre event pass.

Pricing

Event jobs are quoted per property. Acreage, how long it has been since the ground was cleaned, dog count, and whether you want one sweep or two all move the number, so a flat published rate would not tell you anything useful.

For a reference point, a standard one time cleanup starts at $45, plus $20 for each additional five gallon bucket removed, and that volume based structure is how event work gets priced too. Get us the details early and you get a real number early.
